SOUTHERN ALAMANCE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC
BOOSTERS CLUB
ARTICLE I – QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Who May Apply.
Any person who meets the requirements set-up in the Constitution of Southern Alamance High School Athletic Boosters Club may apply for membership.
Section 2. How to Become a Member.
Membership is obtained by purchasing one of a variety of membership tickets available.
Section 3. Term of Membership.
Subsequently and as long as such member shall remain in good standings by renewing his/her membership each year. He/She shall be entitled to rights and privileges of membership and shall be bound by rules and regulations expressed herein and by rules, Constitution and By-Laws of the organization.
ARTICLE II – MEMBERSHIP DUES
Membership dues will be established each year. Membership will be renewed each year beginning in June.
ARTICLE III – RULES OF PROCEDURE
Section I. Governing Authority
Business meeting shall be conducted in accordance with Robert’s Rules of Order
Section 2. Quorum.
Quorums for the transaction of business shall be a majority vote of the members of the organization present at any regular meeting or special meeting called by the President. Twenty-four (24) hours notice is to be given prior to cancellation or date change of the meeting. Executive Committee meeting will be held before the regular Booster’s meeting as needed.
Section 3. Business Transactions.
A quorum of the total membership of the Executive Committee must approve business matters prior to the presentation to the club for approval.
Section 4. Floor Motions
Motions from the floor may be accepted from accredited members only.
Section 5. Voting.
Each accredited member present at any meeting shall be entitled to one vote.
ARTICLE IV – CLUB FUNCTIONS
Section 1. Responsibilities
- Support all school athletics
- Operation of concessions when applicable
- Support other activities as deemed appropriate
Section 2. Projects
Sponsor those projects approved by the club as required for financial support
Section 3. Social Activities.
Co-sponsor the all sports event to be held during the month of May for the school year.
Section 4. Awards
- A T-Shirt will be awarded to each participating team member as a 4A-Conference Championship Team. Varsity and J-V Teams competing with at least 4 conference teams are included. All T-Shirts shall be ordered and provided by the Booster Club through the Spirit Wear Committee.
- State titles sanctioned by the NCHSAA (North Carolina High School Athletic Association) awards will be considered as the case may arise. ($50 individual or $35 per team member) These amounts may be adjusted by the club with consideration to other expenditures.
- The Booster Club will provide a “Super Patriot” Award to any student athlete that participates in (3) three varsity sports in (1) one school year. Cheerleading will be considered as (2) sports reflecting fall and winter participation. A maximum of (20) twenty dollars per individual will be provided by the Booster club.
Section 5. Memory Fund
Club will contribute maximum of $100 in the event of the death of a current student athlete or school system approved coach.
ARTICLE V – AMENDMENTS
Section 1. These by-laws may be amended as necessary by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members present and voting, provided notice of the proposed amendment shall have been given at the previous meeting.
Section 2. A committee may be appointed to submit a revised set of the By-Laws only by a majority vote at a meeting of the club, or by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Executive Committee. The procedure for action on amendments in Section 1 of this article shall be followed.
